Do you sometimes feel that your team or employees are not able to achieve the required level of productivity? If yes, then read on to find out if any of these factors are responsible for poor workplace productivity!

1. Personality or Ego Encounters –

Since most teams have a number of people coming from diverse cultures, having different personalities, it is common to have ego clashes. They are generally seen between two people with a different point of view. This situation can lead to conflict within the team and affect the productivity.

2. Heavy Workload –

If your employees find that the workload has suddenly increased, they might sometimes become discontented with their work. This might also affect the quality of these larger targets and might even cause adverse effects on employees health and morale.

3. Stress –

A workplace in today’s modern time is full of deadlines, demands and foundations. There might be some employees in your team who handle the pressure well. However, there might also be some employees who are not as productive, when it comes to handling work-related stress.

4. Limited Resources –

If you are expecting a task to be completed by your employee you have to give them the required resources, such as time and material to enable them to perform well. These resources will help them improve their work quality. However, if these resources are limited, productivity and quality will be affected.

5. Poor Leadership from Top Management –

It is the fundamental role of the managers to provide constant motivation and leadership to the team. However, if the management itself is lacking, then it won’t be justified to expect brilliant results from the employee’s. Aggressive behaviour from managers can also lead to evasive attitude towards work.

6. Lack of Clarity About the Role –

A person can work to his full potential if they know what exactly the work is and how it is to be done. However, if an employee is not clear about their role in the organisation, it is undeniable that they will be incompetent and even frustrated with the job.

7. Lack of Clarity About Accountability –

It has been noted in a lot of cases that the modern workplace makes one employee work under 2 to 3 managers. This often leads to non-clarity about whom the employee is accountable to and can also hamper the quality of work.

8. Gossip –

This is one of the most common aspects that create discord within the organisation. It hampers concentration and also affects the productivity of the team members who indulge in it. It is one of the primary reasons why conflicts within the team arise, and team members create differences within themselves. This ultimately leads to poor workplace productivity.

9. Outdated Technology –

Being a manager you must equip your employees with the tools that are required to perform the job. Moreover, if the tools that you provide are outdated, then the results are going to be sub-par. Outdated or obsolete technology might also cause delays which will ultimately hamper the productivity.

10. Limited Employee Engagement Programs –

It is essential for every employee to feel that he or she is a part of the organisation. Employee engagement programs do the same for your team. However, if such programs are not there or are in a limited number, then it is apparent that their purpose is not achieved. You can conduct many team building events to increase employee engagement.

If you feel that any of these issues are prevalent in your organisation, then you must take immediate steps to curb their advancement.
