The internet and digital technologies are enabling frontiers that were unexplored until now. Schools and educational institutions have been conducting tests in a paper format since their existence. But now, with online assessment platforms, you can switch to digital examinations.

Whether for ICAS assessments or admission tests, you can utilize these platforms with ease. In this article, learn the benefits of using online assessments for your school. In the same way, assessment solutions are very helpful for companies too.

Less Administrative Burden

Schools in existence would know the administrative burden that comes with conducting examinations. From selecting examination sites to preparing questions and evaluating them, it’s a time-consuming and resource-consuming process. And that’s the primary problem assessment platforms solve.

They automate the time-consuming processes for you. For example, if you’re investing in an ICAS assessment platform, it has pre-built questionnaire sets available. You can use them for the exams, make a few changes, or build one scratch.

If you want, you can create a separate questionnaire for each candidate. Using the LOFT or “linear on the fly testing” mechanism, you can deliver different questionnaires to every candidate all at the same time. But the question papers are psychometrically equivalent to ensure fairness.

Since the exams take place online, you don’t have to spend many resources preparing the examination halls. So, all in all, you lessen the administrative burden when assessing candidates.

Easier Question Preparation

Expanding the benefit mentioned above, you have an easier time preparing the question paper.

There are two types of assessment platforms you can invest in. One that allows you to create a questionnaire for specific examinations. And the second is where you can prepare them from scratch.

Platforms for specific exams allow you to create questions for that particular exam in the least amount of time. So if your school conducts only a specific examination, it will save you a lot of time by investing in exam-specific platforms.

Automated Marking

If your school spends too much time on marking, then it’s worth investing in an online assessment platform. Such platforms can automatically mark the answers submitted by the candidates.

This auto-score feature also eliminates marking errors. With manual checks, there’s always a chance of errors. Auto scoring can check thousands of papers at once with perfect accuracy.

Greater Security

Online examinations are also very much secure. The questions stay secured on the cloud and are made available to the candidates only when the exam starts. If they’re distributed even a few hours or minutes before, then there’s a chance of breaching. The papers can get into candidates’ hands which will defeat the purpose of the assessment. The assessment platforms are secured by the latest security certificates and technology, making online exams more secure than offline exams.

Better Scalability

Another benefit of online assessment is you can cover a larger demographic. You don’t have to host additional exam centers. Just create login credentials for additional candidates and allow them to attend the examination from anywhere in the world. Thus, if you want to assess candidates located overseas, you can make them take the online tests.

If you’re conducting ICAS assessments, then you must be assessing candidates located overseas. So investing in an online assessment platform should be of great benefit to you. When you’re researching your options, always have a clear objective in mind and purchase accordingly.
