A brand ambassador is one of the reasons why customers are more trusting of your products and services. Without them, you would have a hard time gaining credibility and encouraging people to buy from you. In fact, 71% of marketers believe that brand ambassadors such as influencers are good for business and 49% of consumers even depend on them for recommendations.

That being said, this further proves that brand ambassadors are beneficial because they not only help drive visibility for your brand, but they also help create a community of people who would remain loyal and even go as far as recommending your brand to other people.

With that, we have created this guide to help you find the most suitable person or group of people for your brand.

Look for people who actually like your products

Finding a brand ambassador for your business should not have to be that hard. The easiest way to find one is to look for people who genuinely like your products and are willing to positively vouch for your brand.

Keep in mind that brand ambassadors do not always have to be famous and prominent people. They can be ordinary people you usually see in your stores or shops. That being said, one of the best places to start looking for a brand ambassador is through your customer’s list. If you already have a loyal customer or already know someone who genuinely likes your products, then you can simply reach out to them and ask them if they are interested to become one of your brand ambassadors.

Doing this would help you boost your brand and establish credibility, especially in your community or the area where your store/shop is located.

Get help from a brand ambassador agency

If you are still at the onset of your business and you have yet to establish a name for your brand, then we highly suggest you look at a brand ambassador agency as one of your viable options.

Getting help from an agency would make the process a lot easier and convenient for you. You no longer have to spend countless hours doing research, looking for the most suitable ambassador for your brand. The agency would simply do it for you and you can just focus on the other aspect of your business.

Since startups can be demanding and stressful at the start, you can let a brand ambassador agency handle all the work related to branding and other aspects of marketing. From hiring brand ambassadors to even getting trade show models for your event, you can simply rely on them for anything related to branding.

Scour social media

Given that roughly 7 in 10 Americans use social media, it is the best place to start looking for a brand ambassador. As one research has pointed out, social media can have a powerful influence on how people feel about your brand. That being the case, having a brand ambassador who is also a social media influencer can have significant and positive effects on your brand.

Social media influencers help stir the conversations towards your brand and they have a great influence on how trends are formed.

Other than that, you can also reach and explore a new market you have not ventured before. Since social media influencers already have a great number of followers, your brand message can be easily spread to other markets beyond your reach.

Attend events

Attending events such as conferences and conventions is a great way to find ambassadors for your brand. Besides, you can also market your products or services while you attend events like these.

Offline interactions are one of the surefire ways to get to know people even better. You can talk to a potential brand ambassador on a more personal level, allowing you to build a better and healthier relationship with them.

Meeting people face-to-face would also make the screening process a lot easier.  Sometimes, you would be able to know whether a person genuinely likes your brand. By simply having this knowledge, you can easily eliminate people who you think are not suited to represent your brand.

Deciding on whether or not they are a good fit

Now that you round up all the people who can be your brand ambassador, you now have to decide whether they are a good fit for your overall brand or not.

As we have mentioned before, we highly suggest you pick a brand ambassador who genuinely likes your product. This way, people would be more trusting of your brand because your brand ambassador actually “practice what they preach.”

Other than that, you also have to consider several things such as your modes of marketing. For example, if you are planning to go all-out on digital marketing, then having a social media influencer as a brand ambassador might be the perfect option for you. If, on the other hand, you are implementing more targeted marketing for a certain location, then a brand ambassador who is from the community might be the one you should opt for.

All in all, your brand ambassador should align with your branding and marketing strategy.
