  • AI specialist recruited through the partnership became part of the company’s growing Legal Tech and AI division

A collaboration between Claim.co.uk and the University of Salford has come to fruition with the recruitment of an AI specialist who has joined the company’s growing Legal Tech and AI division.

Aaron Chacko joined the business following a collaboration between Claim.co.uk and the university, focusing on AI research and real-world legal technology projects. Having completed an MSc in Data Science at the University of Salford, he is now using those skills and experiences to help develop systems focused on disclosure analysis, automation, evidence processing, legal workflows, and operational efficiency for Claim.co.uk.

The partnership, which originally began through innovation and AI initiatives involving the university, has since expanded into commercial Legal AI development, housing disrepair technology, document analysis systems, and litigation workflow automation. It has been so successful that the University of Salford has invited Claim.co.uk to contribute to discussions around the development of a new Artificial Intelligence and Automation apprenticeship programme. Claim.co.uk has already participated in an employer roundtable focused on helping shape future AI education pathways and ensuring students develop skills aligned with real-world industry needs.

It’s a mutually beneficial collaboration that has helped strengthen Claim.co.uk’s growing focus on Legal AI, automation, and operational technology within regulated claims management and legal services environments. The company hopes its involvement in shaping future AI-focused educational programmes will help encourage more students and graduates to pursue careers in responsible and commercially applied artificial intelligence.

Ben Snape, CEO of Claim.co.uk, comments: ‘One of the most rewarding parts of this collaboration has been seeing talented graduates transition into meaningful commercial roles where they are working on genuine AI innovation.

‘Aaron is now contributing towards real-world Legal AI systems being used within regulated environments, which shows what can happen when businesses invest in emerging talent and universities actively collaborate with industry.

“The fact we are now helping shape future AI-focused courses and apprenticeship discussions with the University of Salford makes the partnership feel full circle.”

Taha Mansouri, Senior Lecturer in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Salford, adds, ‘Partnerships between universities and industry play a vital role in helping students and graduates apply AI knowledge in real-world settings.

‘It has been extremely positive to see collaboration projects evolve into commercial opportunities, skilled roles, and ongoing innovation within the legal technology sector.

‘Aaron is an excellent example of how investing in emerging talent can create long-term impact both for businesses and for the wider AI ecosystem.’
