The term “workplace” is pretty much self-explanatory, isn’t it? It is the place where you work. However, often many people complain about all the distractions that make it difficult for them to give their hundred percent at the office.
This is when you need to think of different ways you can renovate your workspace to enhance productivity, you may want to consider textured acrylic coating finishes. So let’s explore those ways today.
Get Rid of Distractions at Workplace
All those high-tech electronic devices are now with us 24/7. You are getting notifications in your tab; messages keep coming to your smartphone. Enough distraction all around.
I prefer keeping all these devices in silent mode when I am at work. After a couple of hours, I check my phone for updates and make sure to respond to the urgent notifications.
You can also hang a few artworks on the walls. However, make sure to keep it simple. Instead of using those old-style inspiring quotes, you can hang paintings and even featured pictures of people.
Control the Indoor Noises
It is quite natural that different people have their unique preferences when it comes to music. And often some prefers playing something in the background to keep their energy levels up.
However, you can’t expect twenty-one-year-old Jeremy to have a soft corner for 60s music that fifty-five-year-old Mr. Anderson is playing from his laptop for hours. Communicate with everyone from the floor and try to find a middle ground.
Find some music that you can play in low volume that will not be distracting. Scientists have found that nature sounds are extremely effective to enhance concentration and cognitive thinking.
So you can play the sound of the river flowing or waterfall in a low volume at the workplace. It will surely help with boosting productivity and at the same time will be soothing for everyone.
Office Furniture and Productivity
This is a vital thing for your workplace. You need to make sure that the table and chair you are using is comfortable enough for you to work.
Some people these days prefer to stay on their feet for some time while they are working. It is proven to be quite healthy.
Longer hours at work and back pain often come hand in hand. To safeguard yourself from this kind of physical discomfort, use a recliner for back pain. They are really useful for people working 8-10 hour jobs.
Recently, there is a new hype going on about treadmill desks. More and more people are now getting them for their offices. However, I personally find them a little too noisy and expensive. Moreover, they are not quite durable.
Work with the Lights
When it comes to lighting, nothing can be compared to the natural source light. Unfortunately, they often do not come in abundance. Therefore, you have to use other sources to ensure that your workplace is well lit.
Instead of just relying on the conventional fluorescents, you can also try other sources like lamps. Additionally, bring your innovative thinking into play to find different ways to use lighting to enhance productivity.
For instance, the color of the light can change when your sales team has made a new record with their numbers. Or when you are welcoming a new colleague on the floor.
Also, make sure that the color of the walls is low. This will allow your lights to shine brighter. However, make sure that the light is not excessively bright. Otherwise, it will work as a distraction.
Focus on the Outdoor Views
We are not computers or robots that can work nonstop. Even the most productive man of the planet needs break time to time. And one of the best ways to utilize that break to re-energize yourself would be- gazing towards nature.
Have a window wide open at a side where you can have a glimpse of greenery. If your workplace is in a jungle of concretes, have a live wall or a skylight as an alternative.
According to doctors, looking at the distance is very good for our eyes. And you surely need them to work really, really well to ensure productivity at work.
Have some Fun
All work and no play made Jack a dull boy remember? And a “dull boy” is hardly going to be the most productive person at the workplace. So make sure to create a friendly environment at your workplace.
You can have a coffee corner in your office. There you can go for a break time to time and have a little chat with your colleagues. Several months back, I went to an office where they had a billiard board at the corner of the floor.
One of their employees told me that whenever they felt all too exhausted by the workload, they would simply turn off their monitors. They would take a break and go for a little bit of billiard. Once they were back, they felt more energetic and that helped to enhance productivity.
Keep Fresh Food
A productive and inspired employee is a healthy employee. And health can only be ensured if the food they are having is fresh and healthy. So make sure that you are cleaning your office refrigerator every week. Always keep fresh food in the stock.
Conclusion
Always remember, it doesn’t cost you a fortune to turn a workplace where people will be highly productive and inspired.
Playing a bit of mild music, allowing the natural light to glow and giving people a glimpse of the natural view can go a long way.
At the same time, the most productive people are not those who work hours after hours like robots. Give them an environment where they can breathe, be easy. It will surely help them to re-charge themselves.
Bring some simple changes to your workplace and you will see how your productivity increases within the next few weeks.
