Lead generation is one way businesses grow. It involves a process where potential customers are identified and cultivated for a business’s offerings. This process aims to convert the clients into sales to make a profit. According to the content marketing institute, 85% of B2B marketers confirm that generating leads is their most important goal for marketing. However, some businesses fail to generate leads. Fortunately, there are several methods for generating leads, including the following.
1. Never break contact with past clients
Organizations remain successful by nurturing and maintaining business relationships with past customers and turning them into repeat business. It involves dedicating time and commitment to improving the customer experience. And if they come back, you are doing something right with your marketing strategies.
Another reason to keep close contact with former clients is that they could be your advocates and send referrals your way. You can maintain this relationship by scheduling periodic email reminders to check in with them. This strategy is effective in keeping your business in the minds of past customers. These reminders may compel them to return for more transactions and bring others with them.
2. Review your website
How appealing is your website? Apart from the initial draw, does it contain good content? If you’re not too happy with your responses to these questions, your website may need a review. It is recommended to use an experienced web design company to plan your site and create a professional impression. It is worth noting that a well-designed website can contribute to lead generation. Even better, it boosts your conversion rates.
3. Be direct, open, and proactive in asking for referrals
This upfront strategy is uniquely potent and is often described as one of the best lead generation methods in the business world. An upfront request puts the customer on the spot, but for all the right reasons. Indeed, some may refuse outrightly, but the majority will be convinced to provide relevant information, especially if they have had a positive experience. So, how can you go about this? First of all, if you run a business in a physical store, you may want to make available a form for possible referrals.
If you’re saving up on paper printouts, maybe a manned tablet for that sole purpose can be provided at the counter. This way, any person who visits the store can provide at least one referral. While some may describe this method as guerrilla marketing, there is no denying how effective it can be. If your business is online, perhaps a digital request form will suffice. This can be a pop-up on the screen before the user exits the page. A pleased customer will be willing to provide a friend or relative. Global business giants like Dove and Nivea use this direct system to general leads.
4. Pick your promotional methods wisely
What promotional methods have you used or adopted in recent times? If nothing positive came out of them, it would be good to look elsewhere. Today, setting camp at industry events is an effective promotional strategy. You may also want to consider pay-per-click advertising as another promotional method to generate leads for the business.
