Remote working has been a struggle to cope with, and many businesses have suffered as a result. Luckily, figuring out how to motivate and monitor your staff to ensure that they can meet their goals despite working from home needn’t be as difficult as you might expect, as there are just a few key tips and tricks that you can utilise today to stay at the top of your game, whatever happens. So, if you would like to find out more, then simply read on!
Provide The Right Equipment
When a member of your team heads to their usual office or workplace, all of their equipment and materials are laid out before them. This of course may not be the case at home, as many people do not have access to technology and other important items that they need to perform to the best of their ability. Providing your staff with the equipment that they require is absolutely essential, as you cannot expect them to meet your expectations without it. Start off with the basics, checking whether they have access to a phone line and internet connection. If they don’t have any WiFi as of yet, you can suggest that they research what is fibre broadband to arrange installation and connection. A computer, laptop or tablet is likely your next priority, as this will allow them to stay in touch virtually whilst submitting and sharing files. Make sure that you install some kind of antivirus or firewall software on the PCs you hand out to your staff, as you will not be there to resolve any solutions they may encounter whilst browsing the web, and this will reduce the likelihood of issues arising.
Set Daily Goals
A brilliant way to ensure that your team can stay motivated and inspired whilst working remotely is by setting daily goals. Encouraging your staff to remain on the ball by suggesting aims that they can work towards will ensure they stay focused, and providing rewards for those who meet these goals can be an even greater motivation. Rewards can be anything from a one-off pay boost to a box of chocolates or a case of wine, but you know your staff better than anyone, so you can choose the most appropriate reward that’s sure to keep them interested. Always take into consideration the difficulties that remote workers face, ensuring that you do not set goals that are completely unattainable. This will do nothing but discourage your team from giving it their all, as they feel that this still isn’t good enough.
Remaining productive whilst working from home has never been so simple when you can take the time to make the most of the brilliant tips and tricks that have been carefully described above! There’s no time like the present to provide your staff with the right equipment whilst setting them motivating goals with tantalising rewards.
