A good business is only as good as the sum of its parts. You can put all the time and effort into making your company as good as it can be. However, if your staff aren’t pulling their weight, then things will begin to fall apart very quickly. 

The reason for your staff’s failings may not be because of apathy, but rather a miscommunication. Some people do end up in the wrong job or find that they aren’t as skilled as they initially thought.

So, how can you make sure that you are hiring the right people for your business? Let’s take a look at some ideas.

The companies will seek out the right people for the role as per your specifications, cutting out a large part of the job advertising process. However, you will need to maintain your reputation as a good company to work for, so try not to let standards slip, and new staff will be banging on your door in no time.

Hiring new job seekers may not sound like the best idea on the surface, but there are some perks to this process. First of all, a new job seeker with little experience elsewhere is like a blank slate. You can mould their productivity to suit your needs without having to iron out any bad habits they have picked up in other careers. 

Secondly, a new job seeker reveals something about the employee that may be hard to root out otherwise. A young new starter will obviously have a good ethic and willingness to work. These traits are great, especially for a new business. You may need to take a bit longer to train them but don’t overestimate their enthusiasm. It’s all about finding the right balance.

Use Social Media

The newer generations are all up to date on the latest social media apps and sites. To anyone else, this statement will mean nothing. To a recruiter, this detail reveals a lot more than you may think.

People with a large social media presence are more likely to be confident and tech-savvy. You can look out for anyone that is comfortable on social media, and ignore anyone that uses the software inappropriately.
