As far as employee benefits go, there’s one type of benefit that stands out above the rest; insurance.

While it might sound boring, employees love being offered free insurance as a benefit of working for your company. Why? Because it tends to mean they are getting some form of protection without needing to spend their own money.

It sounds appealing, but what type of insurance is the most beneficial for your employees? Here are three suggestions that tend to be warmly welcomed by all:

Health insurance

Depending on what country you operate in, health insurance is a benefit that could be required by law. Companies over a certain number of employees must provide health insurance in various countries around the world. Regardless, this is a benefit that all of your employees will really want. If it isn’t legally required where you live, then it will be very warmly welcomed as they are basically getting free health insurance. It puts their mind at ease, and you can also offer things like extras cover to further enhance the insurance benefits. With this, they will also get cover for out-of-hospital expenses and treatments.

Dental insurance

Most health insurance packages don’t cover dental costs, which is a problem as they can be very expensive. Dental issues are so common, and your employees are likely to suffer from them at some point. So, if you offer dental insurance as a perk for working for your company, it will be met with sighs of relief. A lot of people will actively stay at your company just because they get free dental insurance. It’s such an easy way to inspire loyalty, but it’s also a great way of giving back to your employees and providing them with some insurance that helps them save a lot of money in their lifetime.

Life insurance

Not the nicest type of insurance to consider offering as a benefit, but one that will still be well received. Life insurance kicks in when someone passes away, paying beneficiaries of the deceased with money to help them during this difficult time. A lot of people don’t have life insurance because it’s expensive, so offering it to your employees can be very good indeed. The reason this is such a great benefit is that it benefits their family as well as the employee. They can live with the knowledge that, if the worst were to happen, their family would be financially protected thanks to their life insurance policy.

By all means, there are other types of insurance you could add to your employee benefits package. Disability insurance and vision insurance are two of the other popular offerings, but the three listed above tend to be the most well-received. Again, insurance isn’t the most exciting benefit of all, but it is one of the best. You are basically protecting your employees and helping them save money at the same time. They know they are covered in various situations with your insurance offerings, making their life a lot easier. As a consequence, there’s a high likelihood of retaining employees as you’ve made them happy with the benefits.
