A shared fascination for photography brought Humiio together, an exclusive collection of compelling photographs and high-quality frames under one concept. Photo frame wall art

Photo art or artistic photography as an art form is an important movement in photography. Photography is a craft, just like painting. Those who have mastered the technique can unleash their artistic qualities on the image. That is how art is created. In photography, this has received a huge boost in recent years. There are a large number of professional photographers who have elevated photography to “photo art”.

Photo art or abstract art has several movements, which include portrait photography, for example. In addition, there are also landscape photography, nature photography, urban photography and abstract photography, all of which form a separate discipline. And then there is the distinction between black and white photo are and colour nude art.

Photo art has now conquered its place in museums and galleries. There are galleries that only present photo art and thus demonstrate that it is a discipline that is worth presenting as an art form.

Photo wall art

Worldwide there are a number of famous photo galleries, but in the meantime photo art online has made it even more accessible. Physically visiting galleries can be omitted, now that a lot is possible online. These photo shops and galleries give an online look at photography art and offer the possibility to purchase photo art online as well. This offers private individuals the opportunity to view photo art in an accessible way and thus buy their own photo artwork or collection. Whether it concerns black and white photography art, photos in colour, or decentralized art such as that by Botto, everything is possible. At Humiio you will find an exclusive online collection of special photos carefully framed by high-end framing studios, from which you can make your own choice. Kitchen wall frames are also possible to order at Humiio. Abstract portraits in colour and black and white, for example. A series of photos are offered online that deserve a place in many interiors.

Street art photography

Street art is hot. Graffiti and murals give a city or industrial estate a completely different look. While graffiti was still illegal in the eighties and was mainly performed at night, nowadays artists are even commissioned to bring a grey wall to life by painting a picture on it with spray paint.

Graffiti, which is Italian for “scratched drawings” is an art that originated in America. In the sixties, it became enormously popular among street youth. In the eighties, it blew over to Europe. The Dutch graffiti scene was rampant between 1985 and 1995. Short texts and images were sprayed on bare walls in all possible colours. The American Keith Haring has become one of the most famous American graffiti artists. In the Netherlands, artist Jasper Krabbé was part of the graffiti scene in Amsterdam for a number of years.

Because graffiti was not always appreciated, it was removed by municipalities in the Netherlands where possible. They did not see art in it, according to them it was merely the plaster of walls. It was considered vandalism. Removing it was not always easy. Government buildings were particularly targeted and cleaning the facades cost the government a lot of money.
