The world is currently facing numerous challenges with the global spread of the virus COVID-19. Now more than ever, people have become so conscious of their health and their loved ones as they do their best to survive.

Fortunately, during these trying times, IT solutions also paved the way to improve services that’s convenient to allow people to continue with their transactions without having to go out of their homes and risk their lives with getting the virus. Due to these IT solutions, people somehow found hope and strived to keep going even during the darkest times in this pandemic.

Most business establishments, local vendors, and healthcare facilities were greatly affected by this sudden change. Some people even lost their daytime jobs as a business were put at risk of going bankrupt. Luckily, IT solutions created a way to shed light on these problematic times. Listed here are ways how IT solutions helped during the pandemic.

Provide Work Alternatives

Since the COVID-19 virus could transfer easily, employees were advised to stay indoors to work from home and follow strict safety protocols. But for some, they lost their sources of income.

Most businesses cut down on their number of employees to suffice their business since there was also a shortage in the salary they could offer as customers became few. Fortunately, companies like MBIT technologies make ways to come up with intelligent solutions to address business needs and communication.

Despite these setbacks, people who were able to keep their jobs continued working at home, while some people turned into opening their online businesses. Online was a great place to promote since people spent most of their time online. Such solutions include food businesses and delivery services wherein motor riders were hired to transport items by booking in their applications without any communication hindrances.

COVID-19 was easily spread, especially during the first months it was known. People were advised to avoid physical contact, including exchanging money and keeping spray alcohol with them as much as possible to disinfect things right away. So, businesses were also heavily affected by this as not all establishments had an online bank payment option.

In coping with the changes, banks were able to open up some mobile banking apps that could cater to every individual’s financial transactions. People didn’t have to go outside and visit the nearest banks in their area to transfer a payment. They’d just download the app, register themselves, then start any money transactions.

It’s one of the best IT solutions to lessen physical contact and transfer of the virus that people might continue using even after fighting against the virus. It’s as if slowly you can do everything in any technological device you have.

Accommodating Online Clinical Care

Fear of going into hospitals for a check-up arose as most COVID-19 patients are in hospitals. Thus, drive-through testing for the COVID-19 virus was established. In this way, the patients don’t have to leave their vehicles. They’d need to register over the phone, talk to their physician via video conference, and an assigned nurse will get the nasal swab and vital signs.

In another sense, when a patient is advised to be admitted, technology is the best way to address the patient’s needs. Some hospitals had video monitors in each patient room to make communication possible on both ends for the physician, patient, and the families.

Group video calls are also possible to cater to more people in just one call and minimize the exposure of visiting hospitals physically. The most important is staying protected while having low exposure or none at all while caring for patients.

Help Cope-Up During Times of Stress

Mental health is very important in a person’s overall well-being, but it was greatly affected by COVID-19. People could not do the usual things they wanted to due to the strict restrictions they should abide by. Stress management was hard to do when most people felt boxed up in their houses without anything to do. It leads most people to overthink and worry.

But with advancements in technology, stress was manageable with the utilization of meditation apps, fidget gadgets, stress-tracking devices to help promote a feeling of positivity and calmness. Even some artificial intelligence chatting robots were of great help to people who wanted to talk to someone when no one else was available.

Connect with Loved Ones Abroad

People are naturally social beings. Being able to share how you feel and what happened in your day is a therapeutic way to destress. But, since each country’s borders were closed, some people were stuck in places where they last stayed. Luckily, IT solutions had made a way to easily contact loved ones even if you’re living miles away from them.

A good example would be the usage of Zoom. Zoom became the go-to software for people to collaborate anywhere around the globe. It enables you to video call, chat, record, and even teachers use this to discuss lessons with their students as it has a breakout room feature where students could brainstorm and share ideas. Undeniably, this made communication easier.

There’s no battle any human being cannot win without the collective help and rapid technological innovations. For now, we may not see each other’s smiles as people must use face masks to be protected, but we must not give up because there will always be light at the end of the tunnel.
