Strapping comes in handy in all kinds of startups and businesses. Whether you need to pack goods or secure your products, a good quality strapping will do the job. From construction industries to clothing businesses, almost everyone needs strapping tools at some stage. There isn’t an easier way of bundling goods together with other than strapping them together. The best part, you have multiple options.
You can choose the material and type according to your choice. However, to select the right strapping, you must consider the weight of the load you plan to strap. If you plan to transport heavyweight products, choose strong strapping. Selecting the right strapping might be confusing because there are many options to consider. Here are some common types of strapping used everywhere.
Using Plastic Strapping
Plastic is commonly used in almost every strapping process. Several manufacturers use plastic buckles for strapping as it keeps every item safe in its place. If you need to secure material for transit, plastic strapping will be an economical solution in comparison to other options. There are two main types of plastic strapping:
- Polyester
Amongst all strapping options, a polyester is a great option. The best thing about polyester is that it is strong and durable. You can go with the polyester option if you don’t find steel strapping on the market.
Like steel, polyester can be used to pack heavy items, and it won’t be that expensive. Once you bundle goods in polyester, they won’t get damaged during transportation. Polyester is more tensile and has greater thermal tolerance. So if you are sending packages to another country, you should opt for polyester strapping. Any materials that shrink after cooling can be packed using this option.
Polyester strapping is made from recycled material and is found in different textures and styles. You can pack any goods in them, and the overall cost will be less than that of steel strappings. Furthermore, it is rust-resistant and doesn’t impact the environment.
However, an individual can’t apply polyester strapping to items with their hands. You will need specific tools and machines to help you.
- Polypropylene
A popular strapping option is also polypropylene. It’s economical and versatile, so more people tend to buy polypropylene strapping. Nothing can be better for packing medium-weight goods other than polypropylene. Even if you need to send lightweight goods or need to store antiquities, it is an ideal choice. Anything including, flooring, clothing, and papers can be strapped with polypropylene. You can use them for packing frozen goods and fresh food items.
It’s easy to find the material in different colors, thicknesses, and widths. Moreover, these strappings are embossed, so they provide extra strength. In most scenarios, the strapping process creates a lot of dust but not with polypropylene. Since it has elasticity, it won’t lose its shape and return to its original form in no time.
A significant advantage of picking polypropylene is that it can be used in multiple ways. You can manually put the straps and use a fully automated machine. Polypropylene may be different than steel but is equally effective.
