White light bulb

This shouldn’t happen in a world where we have so many options. Just making the switch to better lighting could instantly increase your profitability, which is why you need to make it a priority. Let’s take a look at the different types of light for businesses that are available in your nearby lighting supply.

Incandescent Lighting

Incandescent light is what you’ll find in your traditional light bulb. These are by far the most inefficient option you’ll find today. They run out fast and consume a lot of energy. The only point in their favor is that the bulbs are cheaper. Besides that, it would be a better option to look at choices that will give you more longevity and efficiency.

LED Lights

Industrial LED lighting is probably the best type of light you can use for your business both indoors and out. It is completely different from other options and uses current to power negatively charged diodes. These will then emit photons of light as a result. Out of all the options, LEDs are the most efficient and will last the longest which makes them a great option for outdoor led area light fixtures. Some LED lights can last up to 50,000 hours. LEDs are also much more versatile and come in all sorts of colors.

Fluorescent Lighting

These are a bit more complex than incandescent lights and are more energy-efficient. They work by sending a current between cathodes containing mercury and various gases. These are excited by the current which creates radiant energy. The outside of the bulb will have a phosphorous coating that converts this radiating energy into light. These last longer than incandescent lighting options and consume less energy, but they’re tougher to dispose of because of the mercury they contain.

Compact Fluorescent Lighting

Compact fluorescent lighting uses the same principle as fluorescent light but is made for different applications. They are made to replicate the action of small incandescent bulbs and can be used in the same way. The only difference is that they will only use a fraction of the energy and can last up to 10,000 hours.

Halogen Lighting

Halogen lighting is an improved version of incandescent lighting. Halogen bulbs contain a filament made of Tungsten wrapped with a translucid envelope. Halogen gas is encapsulated into the bulb with increases its brightness and longevity.

Halogen lighting is often used in retail spaces since one bulb or tube can illuminate large areas at once. While they might not last as much as other options on this list, they will outlast your average incandescent light. The biggest drawback with these is that they tend to be expensive.

If you want to improve the efficiency of your lighting and improve your bottom line, these are the options available. Most of them have some advantages, but some are clearly better, so choose wisely.
