This is one of the questions that my clients and students most often ask me. Most of them are concerned about how much an App costs. And it is that it is a piece of information that they need to know in detail to incorporate into the Business Plan. But the truth is that there is no 100% concrete answer. The price of an application will be marked by different variables. And before giving an approximate answer it is necessary to know them. In today’s post, I am going to show you what these aspects are.
But be careful, because its development is not the only thing you need to consider when preparing the budget for a mobile App. Shall we start?
How much does an App cost: factors that influence the price
If you are going to create an App for your business, I imagine that you will want to know what the budget you will need to take the step depends on. The budget can be estimated from the App development guide in question. For example, if you plan to build a dating app, you should have a dating app development guide. Thus you can estimate the costs that you have to spend.
This is going to be the first question that we are going to deal with today. And for you, it will mean understanding where your project is going. Since, to a large extent, it will condition the type of App that you can create and how many features or details you can add. Let’s see them one by one.
The price per hour of the professional who is going to develop it
Currently, the market for professionals dedicated to developing native Apps is scarce. This is the main reason why a project of this magnitude usually involves a high-cost service. However, it can be partially reduced if, instead of creating a native App, you create a hybrid one. And more drastically if you opt for a PWA. This decision, together with the functionalities you want to add to the application, will have a significant influence when it comes to answering the question, “how much does an App cost”.
The type of company that develops your App
This will happen to you with any service you hire. Each company or professional will have some rates, and to choose the one that offers you the best value for money, my recommendation is that you request at least 3 estimates. That way, you can compare and choose the most convenient option. Be careful; the most convenient does not have to be precisely the cheapest, but the one that provides you with the best service at a reasonable price. It would be useless to choose the cheapest budget if you are not going to get the results you want.
The country where the developer resides
We all know that labor costs are not the same in all countries. They are linked to the economic level of each country. Thus, a person who lives in the United States does not charge the same as another who lives in India. The quality of work may be the same, but due to their politics, culture, and lifestyle, prices vary greatly. It is not about devaluing work. Each professional sets their prices, and as it is one more option on the market, you can evaluate it. Ideally, if you transfer the development to another country, either to a provider you know or someone you trust has recommended. Otherwise, I would not recommend it due to the high risk involved.
