Starting your own business is an exciting venture. However, if you’re having trouble narrowing down what types of services your business may offer, then you’re not alone. It can feel challenging to start a business that’s fueled by your passion. Luckily, there are plenty of creative and interesting options out there to choose from! With this in mind, keep reading to consider a few business ideas and how to create a business rooted in your passion.

If your passion is artistic, consider photography.

Maybe you’re an artistic person who has a keen eye for detail. If you love taking photographs of moments or visually capturing something inside your head, then starting a photography business may be of interest to you. To start, you’ll need to buy a quality DSLR camera with a lens for whatever type of photography you’re interested in.

For example, for portrait photography, you’ll likely want a prime lens that is great for close-up shots of people. However, this kind of lens doesn’t zoom in or out. It’s always a wise idea to also purchase a zoom lens so that you have this capability too when you’re out on a photo shoot in Birmingham or other places near your centralized location.

If your passion is spiritual, consider energy healing.

On the other hand, you might feel as though your calling is a more spiritual purpose. For example, you like to help craft an experience of ease in people’s everyday lives or want them to meditate, work with other creatives, or spend time in the garden improving mood and mental well-being. If you believe you have these gifts like Julie Ann Otis, an intuitive and somatic healer, then you may be able to follow in her footsteps in helping others create themselves in the best way.

Julie Ann went into this path of life and knows how to do energy healing and somatic coaching. Plus, she has written word poetry and multimedia installations like Live Nude Girls and American Therapy. Consider taking courses at Spirit Rock Meditation Center and possibly pursue a Bachelor’s in Social Work that will lay the groundwork. Then, just like Julie Ann, you can learn about the everyday stories of people so you can build a business with clients to help them live their best life.

If your passion is literary, consider copywriting.

Another business idea is to get into copywriting. Plenty of companies all over the world need help with writing. For those with a Bachelor of Arts in English, this business might be a great fit for you. To start a writing business, you’d have to build clientele by offering your services for various work. As an example, you may offer to write content for their websites or social media pages.

Starting a copywriting business doesn’t just happen overnight. You need to have copywriting skills, a computer, and also a website where you can promote whatever type of copy you’d like to write like advertising, email marketing, or website content. These are important parts of beginning your business. Even after these components are figured out, there are plenty of other parts to running this kind of company like determining an hourly or flat rate.

Regardless of what kind of business you want to pursue, you can be confident that there is something out there that will speak to your passions and interests. Once you finally determine what this passion is, it makes it so much easier to begin the business venture. With any of these artsy, spiritual, or literary businesses, you’re well on your way to an excitable business that grants you the flexibility and business you’ve always dreamt of.
