Static QR code payment link makes tips, donations and one-off digital payments as quick and simple as cash

Ecommpay

Enabling small businesses to collect variable one-off payments such as tips and donations, inclusive global payments platform, Ecommpay, has launched QR Code Payment. The new solution provides a single static QR code which merchants can display anywhere, whether on a printed sign, a receipt, or a web page. Payment amounts can be preselected or set by the customer, and payment can be made using any available method.

Critically for small businesses, often with limited technical skills, the QR code is created, customised and published directly from the Ecommpay dashboard without development or integration work or coding required. And delivered on a fully merchant-branded Hosted Payment Page, the payment journey provides the customer with a consistent and trustworthy experience whether they are leaving a tip in a restaurant, donating to charity or making a payment for services or goods.

“We have built QR Code Payments to make it quick and simple to send one-off payments,” commented Artus Zaremba, Head of Payment Solutions, Ecommpay. “It provides a simple solution for small or micro-businesses to accept payments without using a card machine – for example, pay-as-you-go bootcamp sessions in the local park, or selling goods at a farmers’ market or school fair.

“The merchant can choose whether they or the customer sets the amount and choose which payment methods are made available. They also set the look and feel of the payment page, giving them control over their brand experience. The same QR code can be used indefinitely until the merchant chooses to deactivate it.”

The Ecommpay QR Code Payment solution also tackles the lost tip or charity donation with less cash used in today’s society. It is the digital equivalent of leaving a £5 note tucked under a glass at the end of a meal or throwing a few coins into a collection bucket as it passes. With QR Code Payments, merchants and charities can display a static QR code to help capture these payments.

Key features

  • Compatible with payment methods available through Ecommpay.
  • Supports 3DS authentication and AVS check.
  • Static QR code / payment link – A single reusable QR code that opens an own-branded Ecommpay payment page, QR code can be used on printed materials, physical signage or online.
  • Pre-checkout Page – A customised customer-facing page for entering or selecting the payment amount before being redirected to make payment – merchant configures the amount-selection mode per link, in one of three options: custom amount only, preselected amounts only, or preselected amounts plus a custom-amount option. The merchant also controls branding including logo, background image, title, description, action-button text and thank-you page.
  • Dashboard lifecycle management – Full self-service control of the QR code: creation, customisation, copy/download, and deactivation, limited to merchant admin and operations roles.

The Ecommpay QR Code Payment solution is integral to the Ecommpay for Small Businesses solution which offers the capability to go live within hours of onboarding, at a highly competitive transaction rate and without any volume threshold.

Ecommpay for Small Businesses

Go-live timescales are indicative and apply to eligible merchants following successful onboarding. Ecommpay reserves the right to decline applications that do not meet its acceptance criteria.
