Raspberry Pi can be a great solution when it comes to productivity in the work environment. If your employees are struggling to stay productive, these uses of Raspberry Pi might as well be able to change that and help with some common challenges.
1. Using Raspberry Pi as a Desktop PC
Firstly, you may be surprised but the tiny and compact Raspberry Pi can be used as a desktop PC. There are many different models you can explore at the Pi Hut. For the best results though you would want to have Raspberry Pi 4. It acts as a great desktop replacement and boasts all the power you need to complete word processing and other office tasks. You will find Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are also available. What is more, you could even access Google apps for cloud productivity.
2. A Raspberry Pi-controlled smart office
Raspberry Pi can do even more than you would expect. You could create your own smart office. This would involve using different Raspberry Pis for the various tasks needed. For example, one would be running a web server to host the web app in order to control the smart office, another one could be there to manage lights and others could help with TV panels, audio, RGB LED lamps and door security. Of course it is up to you which one of these uses would be best suited to you and your team.
3. Creating a well-mounted calendar
Another brilliant idea you could try is replacing the traditional paper calendar on your office wall with a modern Raspberry Pi controlled calendar which syncs with Google. This will ensure your employees can keep track of all scheduled meetings and deadlines with just a glance. You will need to secure a monitor to a wall and maybe even find a bespoke frame. This could make your team more efficient and fast by providing a convenient point of reference for everybody.
4. Using a status display
As long as you are able to connect Raspberry Pi to a TV you could have a status display. It can list anything you need such as Google Calendar, current weather, news, upcoming tasks in Asana, notes and so much more. This can save time switching between tasks on your computer and help your employees to stay focused. The best part is that it could be done in an office with your team or even at home to help your remote workers.
5. Video Conferencing
For any companies operating remotely, video conferencing is essential in maintaining contact between employees. In order to make this as convenient as possible, your team can easily connect Raspberry Pi to platforms such as Zoom. There is even a possibility of connecting it to a TV or projector for teleconferencing on a big screen.
As you can see Raspberry Pi can act as a productivity powerhouse for your employees. Despite its compact dimensions, it can offer practical solutions to many aspects of your office space making things easier for you and your team.
