Architecture is the perfect marriage of science and art. The science that with the technique allows you to create, and art that allows you to shape the space. The evolution of architecture has always gone hand in hand with the evolution of materials and production processes.
The combined use of existing materials or techniques in a new way has also made a big difference in the evolution of architecture and in its ability to satisfy more specific requests. Consider, for example, composite profiles: the use of two different techniques that already exist and are widely known allows the creation of components that would otherwise be unfeasible.
Architecture, attention to the material
In this field, no aspect can be forgotten, and all variables must be considered. Think of the vast choice of materials with specific attention to their properties. For example, making a building facade with a material that easily perishes with the sun’s rays is unthinkable. The choice of treatments to be carried out, the color, the full and to the voids, the proportion, the arrangement of objects and internal and external spaces must be harmonious and inspired.
To make everything suit perfectly, as in harmony, the architects pay their attention to all the elements that make up the space in width, height and depth and direct their choices to enhance the fourth dimension or time.
Surely the reliability of the materials, their resistance over time and the ability not to lose quality with exposure to atmospheric agents are aspects that cannot be underestimated. In fact, careful analysis and choice of materials will make a difference in project quality.
Spaces to rethink
The use of high-quality materials will always pay overtime, thanks to the longevity of the material and less need for maintenance. Furthermore, choosing a quality material to insert in a space always arouses pleasant sensations, and one cannot fail to evoke the pleasure of walking on nailed parquet!
All living spaces, at home and at work, must be capable of recreating a cosy environment that makes the individual feel an integral part of that space. The architect’s main goal is to make the users feel comfortable and welcome. Indeed, in a non-comfortable environment, subjects will tend to leave it more easily or feel discontent.Even the choice to use the composition of the materials and the installation, possibly quality and local, entails an efficient, qualitatively high, and eco-sustainable result. Therefore, making strategic choices and composing a precise action plan that considers all these aspects is important. In conclusion, we can argue that if the goal is quality, there are no easy recipes.
