Mini split air conditioners are a modern solution in climate control that offers several advantages over traditional air conditioning systems to customers with specific requirements. This is an efficient and scalable solution capable of delivering both cooling and heating to different areas around your client’s home simultaneously.

And all that without any ducts. If you would like to introduce your customers to mini splits, you should be familiar with how they operate, what their benefits are, and in which scenarios they work best.

What Are Mini Split Air Conditioners?

Mini split, otherwise known as ductless air conditioning systems, consist of single or multiple indoor units mounted to the ceiling, wall, or floor. These units are connected with an outdoor condenser or compressor.

The installation procedure involves drilling a small hole through a wall to introduce the conduit from the outdoor unit to the indoor unit or units. The conduit consists of communication and power cables, a condensation drain line, and copper tubing.

What Are The Benefits Of Mini Split AC Units?

Ductless mini split air conditioners offer several advantages to your customers:

  • Flexible zoning and compact size: Mini split systems are small, and they offer great zoning flexibility. Choosing to install several indoor units in multiple locations of the home allows your customers to separately control their air conditioning in different areas because each zone has a separate thermostat.
  • Easy installation: It is remarkably easy to install mini splits, especially in comparison to other types of air conditioning solutions. You can freely position the outdoor and indoor units per your customers desires as much as 50 ft. apart, depending on your client’s exact requirements.
  • Energy efficiency: Because they do not use ducts, mini split systems do not experience sufficient energy loss that originates in the ductwork, allowing them to use less energy cooling approximately the same area.
  • Cost effectiveness: Mini split units bring your clients the ability to control different zones separately. This means that they can turn off air conditioning in those areas of their household not currently occupied.
  • Visual appeal: Indoor mini split units come in different sizes, shapes, and styles, which gives your customers the opportunity to freely customize their appearance and choose a unit that works best for their household.
  • Noise control: Finally, most modern mini splits operate quietly. This is achieved by outdoor placement of the compressor or condenser, which allows the entire system to run without making too much noise.
