Companies have adopted the Agile Testing Methodology to respond to the continuous change requests throughout the software development and testing lifecycle. The agile setup assures that every development and testing activity is conducted aboard, which is quite different in contrast to the outdated waterfall environments. While agile testing tools also prove to be a great help in the iterative software development model.

Agile practices are majorly business-result-motivated, customer-centric, supportive, collaborative, as well as include continuous feedback. This defines how agile is a unique development approach.

Read on to know five major reasons about how Agile Testing is changing the software development scenario:

1. Development and Testing are Different Processes

Due to a dynamic app competition situation in the market, the focus on Continuous Development (CD), Continuous Integration (CI), and Continuous Growth (CG) have increased.  The modern development practice is different from when testing was executed at the end of the SDLC which majorly impacted the app development process. Now the testers collaborate from the early SDLC phases with developers within more comprehensive cycles and to deliver tasks simultaneously. This allows open communication, negotiations, and the exchange of ideas.

2. Leveraging Tools are Crucial

Agile Testing Tools have become a crucial part of Testing and Development practices to assist CD/CI implementations. These tools allow SDLC teams to automate the process and verify if the previously executed changes are not interrupting the new ones & vice versa. Test data generation tools, white box testing tools, and data analytics tools are necessary for the agile environment.

3. Diverse Skills are Forte of Agile Approach

Agile is not a conventional approach as it requires teamwork and therefore supports a parallel reporting format. To adjust to the agile testing environment, the teams must learn cross-functional and diverse skills since roles can be shuffled as required in the development or testing processes.

But the tester in the agile setup has a bigger role to play in SDLC i.e., to assure product quality as well as have development skills to respond if needed.

4.  Open Communication is the Key to Agile

Both testers and developers are considered potent players in the agile setup. Therefore, every team member is supposed to stay responsive to any new variation and iteration led by operational delays, client change requests, or bugs that were not detected. Open communication thus assures team responsiveness as well as business agility.

5. Ensure quick feedback and consequent action

Another key reason to assure business-related agility is to maintain a quick feedback loop and reaction in any IT project. Daily stand-ups, productive scrums, design discussions, quick sprint meetings, and shared feedback keeping user journey and story in the background can assure a smooth product delivery and achieve optimum customer satisfaction. The feedback mechanism reduces the turnaround time span needed for executing requested changes. Additionally, it is required that the agile team must be skilled enough to respond to this feedback and perform actions quickly.

All these 5 prerequisites require continuous integration in every SDLC and testing process to assure complete Agile implementation. This requires consistency and commitment from every team member of an agile project. Further knowledge of the right agile testing tools can be a win-win solution to escape from old testing methods. So, it’s time to train your IT teams and become the next-world agile superheroes!
