The real estate business is a competitive one, and while there is a lot of money to make, you need to find a way to differentiate yourself from your competition. You may use an aspect of yourself or your business to differentiate yourself, or you can do it through your marketing efforts. It can be as simple as promoting yourself as a veteran, parent, or church-goer. You can differentiate yourself in your marketing with humor, endorsements, or politics. When you are trying to appeal to a specific audience, you need to present yourself to them specifically, so understanding your target audience is crucial.

Here are four ideas to help you market your real estate company.

1. Get a mentor.

While getting a mentor isn’t directly marketing your business, working with someone who has years of experience and training can teach you the fastest and most effective ways to market and grow your business. Experienced real estate professionals like David Lindahl have gone on to create a real estate education program and mentor those new to the industry so that they can find success. While there is a lot of money to be made in the real estate market, there are also many risks that lead many to fail. Learning directly from people who have done it is the best way to avoid common mistakes that lead to failure.

2. Use video to promote your properties.

When it comes to real estate marketing, visuals are critical. People want to see the properties to get interested and pursue learning more. Posting many good-quality photos is a great way to get the viewer’s attention. However, posting a video of the property, including drone footage of the whole property, can make the viewer feel like they are already there. They’ll be more inclined to show interest and contact you for more information. You can hire video production services to ensure you get the best quality shots and seamless editing.

Your videos can be used for commercials, social media, or live events. Video production is an effective way to pull in business. Working with one company on several video projects is also effective from a logistics standpoint because they will already have your information and understand what you are looking for at the shoot and in the final project. It also allows you to build that professional relationship.

3. Create a brand presence.

Make sure you are creating consistency across all platforms and marketing initiatives. You want people to see one of your ads or commercials and know it is for your company without seeing your name. You want people to associate your brand with high-quality services as you build customer loyalty and get personal referrals. When you start in real estate, you need to create a vision and mission statement for yourself and use that as the primary focus for your brand. Potential customers will be drawn to a brand they believe stands for something more than making money. Let people know why you went into business and how you’ve been able to help others with your business.

4. Focus online and offline.

While much of the marketing focus is online advertising, it is essential to use online and offline advertising to build your brand and promote your properties. Offline marketing is critical when building your brand because many people want to work with someone local who knows the area. People often view local people or small business owners as trustworthy or reliable. Being engaged with your local community will also help you build your brand, so advertising with community newspapers or joining the local Chamber of Commerce are good ideas.

Sometimes, being innovative is about getting back to the basics. Many companies have focused all of their marketing on social media, and they are missing a large segment of people who are not on social media for one reason or another. Many younger adults have rejected the idea of social media, and many older adults never get involved in it. Being innovative in your real estate marketing means finding ways to reach all of your potential customers.
