In 2016, reports stated that an estimated 58.7% of the world’s population – equal to 4.3 billion people – across the globe are mobile phone users. Statistics show that this number of user growth is slowing down, but by 2020, mobile phone users are still expected to rise up to 4.78 billion.

These numbers show how much mobile phones are deeply integrated now in the lives of the population that has access to it. Most people do not think much of these statistics. With the rapid evolution of technology nowadays, this rise in users is but a normal, expected phenomenon that it would be surprising if the numbers were actually lower than this.
